Description

Introducing the Smart Powermeter — an open solution for your energy consumption measurement.

Featuring a 2.9-inch e-paper display, this meter offers instantaneous grid status updates, empowering you with information while it's IoT capabilities seamlessly integrate with home automation systems (like Home Assistant), offering comprehensive energy monitoring capabilities.

Setting up the Smart Powermeter is effortless, thanks to its built-in 230VAC -> 5VDC regulator that simplifies installation by tapping into existing wires. With support for up to 6 CT clamps, it accommodates triphasic setups or allows detailed monitoring of specific areas.

Gain visibility into usage patterns, track trends, and empower yourself to optimize efficiency and trim costs.

What's in the box

  • A SMD pre-soldered Smart Powermeter board, ready to be programmed by you, using the Arduino IDE or the recommended configuration for ESPHome.
  • Two THT components that you will need to solder by hand:
    • The HLK-2M05 power supply module.
    • A 2P screw block terminal.

And optionally, you can add:

  • 296×128, 2.9inch Black & White e-Paper display.
  • A black-transparent plastic enclosure,115*90*40mm. DIN-rail compatible and with mounting holes to the wall.
  • One of the following sets of CT clamps:
    • 3x SCT-013 series, conversion rate of 100A:50mA
    • 6x SCT-013 series, conversion rate of 100A:50mA

Documentation

Find everything you need to know about the Smart Powermeter in the official documentation website: https://smart-powermeter.readthedocs.io

Features

Since it is based on the extended ESP32-S2 microcontroller you can upload the ESPHome firmware and connect it with your Home Assistant setup or simply upload your own Arduino codes.
Open-source. If you have any questions or suggestions about the board, just check out the extended documentation, and if you still want to  dig deeper, check out the design files on Github

Simple and clear. Read up to 6 independent current channels, compute the power, and display it on the e-paper screen. Since you can support ESPHome, monitoring your home's electric consumption is easier than ever!

Compact and expandable. Want to read external sensors? Enhance its connectivity through the I²C port to measure more than just current.
